You'll find plenty of programs, events and activities at Virginia State Parks. Our 41 parks have thousands of campsites, hundreds of cabins, more than 500 miles of trails and convenient access to Virginia's major waterways. Beaches, picnic shelters, lodges, meeting facilities, festivals, concerts, nature programs, cultural happenings... the list goes on. From Cumberland Gap to the Atlantic Ocean, there's something for everyone at Virginia State Parks.
Virginia State Parks provide comfortable and economical overnight accommodations. There are nearly 300 cozy, climate-controlled cabins of various sizes throughout the state. Many cabins are available year round. If you like a roof over your head but a more primitive experience, we also offer yurts, camping cabins and bunkhouses. With over 1,800 campsites in 28 state parks, you can experience all of what the Commonwealth offers whether you have a RV, pop-up or tent, and everything in between. By 2022 all reservations will be site specific. Reservations are accepted up to 11 months in advance and up to 2 p.m. on the day of arrival. Hunting opportunities range from open hunting in designated areas to managed deer hunts in which individuals participate through a reservation. Managed deer hunts are a tool in DCR's overall deer management program. Specific sites that offer hunting change from year to year. Hunters who participate support our efforts by following each hunt's harvest guidelines.

A non-refundable $5 per transaction fee is charged for overnight site rentals. The fee is directly tied to expenses that support overall facility rentals — credit card fees, 800 number fees, and overnight inventory and reservation system vendor fees. It is charged per reservation and for walk-in stays.
